Education and Teaching Experience
In 2007, Dr. Thomas received her Ph.D. in Counselor Education & Supervision from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She received her Masters of Education in School Counseling from Duquesne University in 1999. Dr. Thomas attended the University of Pittsburgh and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree, majoring in Natural Science. Dr. Thomas has taught as an adjunct instructor at Duquesne University and currently works as an Assistant Professor at the International Institute for Restorative Practices in Bethlehem, PA. There, she teaches graduate courses in youth counseling and restorative practices.
License, Certifications & Awards
Dr. Thomas is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Pennsylvania. She is also a National Certified Counselor (NCC). Dr. Thomas holds K-12 certification as a School Counselor in the State of Pennsylvania and worked in that capacity for close to ten years prior to moving to the area. Dr. Thomas twice received a Who's Who of American College and University Students award and has written and published two chapters in The Counselor’s Companion: What Every Beginning Counselor Needs to Know, Gregoire, J. & Jungers, C. (2006), Mahwah, NJ: Lawrence.
Dr. Thomas is a member of the American Counseling Association, the Lehigh Valley Psychological and Counseling Association, and the National Association of Professional Women.
