About Me

Carol A. Corbett (formerly Thomas), Ph.D., LPC, NCC, is a counseling psychologist specializing in individual, couples, and family therapy.

With over seventeen years experience as a counselor who specializes in work with adolescents, Dr. Corbett is currently serving as a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among her areas of expertise are:

Dr. Corbett is an interactive, solution-focused, client-centered therapist. Her therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. She integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.

Education and Teaching Experience

In 2007, Dr. Corbett received her Ph.D. in Counselor Education & Supervision from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She received her Masters of Education in School Counseling from Duquesne University in 1999. Dr. Corbett attended the University of Pittsburgh and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree, majoring in Natural Science. Dr. Corbett has taught as an adjunct instructor at Duquesne University and as an Assistant Professor at the International Institute for Restorative Practices in Bethlehem, PA. There, she taught graduate courses in youth counseling and restorative practices. 

License, Certifications & Awards

Dr. Corbett is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Pennsylvania. She is also a National Certified Counselor (NCC). Dr. Thomas holds K-12 certification as a School Counselor in the State of Pennsylvania and worked in that capacity for close to ten years prior to moving to the area. Dr. Corbett twice received a Who's Who of American College and University Students award and has written and published two chapters in The Counselor’s Companion: What Every Beginning Counselor Needs to Know, Gregoire, J. & Jungers, C. (2006), Mahwah, NJ: Lawrence.  

Dr. Corbett is a member of the American Counseling Association, the Lehigh Valley Psychological and Counseling Association, and the National Association of Professional Women.
